Gabby keeps amazing me

For those of y'all that didn't know, B is out of town this weekend. As I did when she went out of town about a year ago, I decided this would be a fine time to change things up... Last time, I ended the bottle. This time, it's the pacifier.

So far so good. I've reasoned with her that it's because she's a big girl, sleeping in a big girl bed, and going potty like a big girl, that she can also do without the pcifier. She'd only been using it to fall asleep, but it was time to let it go, especially with a new baby coming.

But that's not what I'm writing about. I needed to unload the trunk this morning from yesterday's Costco excursion, and Gabby decided to lend a hand. I gave her one small boxy item to carry, but she wanted to do more. She walked over to the trunk and grabbed a plastic bag full of odds and ends. then retruned to her boxy thing, and tried to carry both. No can do. So she put the bag down and opened it. Next she repeatedly tried to place the boxy thing into the bag. It wasn't easy. After a few tries she gave up. But she had another idea. She looped the bag on her arm like a purse, and then bent over to carry the boxy thing with both hands! Viola! I just stood there silently and witnessed the entire affair. She rocks.

Later, y'all...

So I had an idea...

I'm sitting here in Austin, on a Saturday night, holding down the fort, and I decided to check out some of our sister blogs... Here's what I found...

Luke's blog hasn't been updated since the Patriots weren't favored to go all the way. No excuse.

Martin's going to be a big brother.

The Weiss blog is lagging, but hey...I know for a fact that there's been a lot of activity in that house - in anticipation of the coming addition.

Lily's dancing. Kind of resembles Luke. Might they have a future?

While the link to Vincent's blog from Luke's doesn't work...ours does. Anyway, I wish them the best on their hard drive issue...may the karmic winds blow your way.

Reno's got some new pictures up...and check out this family portrait. Are we ready for a baby again?? Check out Dylan. Baby's are so tiny. Yikes!

The Rotten Rabbi posted a hilarious video. Thanks, Yaneev.

And then I returned to our blog... First thing I notice is that I'm going to need to update the counter for Gabby soon. She hits the 2 yr old mark on Tuesday. Yay Gabby. It's crazy when you think about how much she's grown from year 0:

To year 1:

To year 2:

And lastly, I also noticed that I'm going to need to change the other counter on our blog... B's about ready to pop. I've gotta get in the zone. I'm about to be a Dad again!!!

Night night, y'all.

Oh the weather outside is frightful!

As you may have heard, Central Texas has been inundated by some nasty winter weather this week. This morning, we actually witnessed some snowfall, and took Gabby out to check it all out.

Here are a couple of pics of the icicles and snow in our back yard.

Thanks for visiting me Uncle Kyle!

For those of you know who don't know, Kyle holds a special place of honor in the Cohen family, because he's the person who introduced Gabby's parents! This weekend was the first time he met Gabby.

Post-Holiday Festivities!

This past weekend, we hosted a little post-holiday holiday gathering at our place. First the kiddos has some delicious snacks and din-din.

(Turned out it was lots more snacks that dinner, but hey, it was a special occasion).

Dinner time! Clockwise: Luke, Martin, Zach, and Gabby chow down.

Then the chaos ensued, when we had our first toddler gift swap!

WeeZ has graduated

Word has come down. In anticipation for a new Wee we've got a new blog...check out WeeZ and Family's new blog!!!

What a nice weekend...

Hello y'all...

I know what you're thinking. "You're from Boston. What's with the y'all?" Ok. Here's the deal. The first time I moved here, I vehemently opposed the y'all. I strictly used "you guys." As a proper Bostonian would, mind you. But as I continually found myself returning to Texas as if it were my home, I found myself embracing more and more of the culture. Now I'm a boot wearing, y'all slinging Texan. Sort of.

Anyway, we had a great weekend y'all. When we began to seriously consider moving back here about 12 months ago, I was a little apprehensive. I had only lived here as a student, and I was a little worried that the city as an Adult would be a bit different than it had been as a student. Guess what. It is. And it's great.

We don't make to many plans. Our errands are quicker and more enjoyable. We visit the playground in the throws of winter while wearing a light jacket. Very laid back. I'm confident is stating that the decision was right for this family. Thank you to all of our friends and family in New England for not giving too much grief over deserting, and thank you to all our Texan friends and family for warmly inviting us home.

Ok, that's it for now. I'm off to the Big D for a few days, and I'll be sure to miss my ladies while I'm away.

Take care of yourselves, y'all.
